You just resist me to make me stronger
You hurry me so it can last a little longer
And now you’ll see the grief you reap and place upon me
And we’ll look back and see all of this quite fondly
And oddly I’m out for the first go-around
But I’m struck by the fact that your kindness abounds
I’ve unwound, and I’ve found that the Light in the tunnel
Is the water of life swirling out of God’s funnel
Just be humble, and see that there’s more than just “me”
Do not flee, or agree we’re all solitary
As my plea, will you please give belief a reprieve
And just see that there’s more than our minds could conceive?
Life’s a dream, when we die then we finally wake up
But for now we are here with our eyes tightly shut
So it seems we should build a good base for our start
Of the path our souls take that begins with our heart
Cleanse your mind and your brain and your works and your deeds
Be amazed as the Father takes care of your needs
Take no notice when one of your wounds starts to bleed
From the cares you were bound to you’ve finally been freed
Life’s a seed, we’ve been given, and all of us grow
But we start off so small, and want no one to know
Our shortcomings we seem to just view as a foe
And shortsightedly think that our flaws will plateau
For the lessons that burn are the ones that we learn
And we’ve grasped it when from all our ways do we turn
And begin to let love be the one to discern
Till the day that our sentence in life has adjourned
