Adrift amid desolate water I recollect the depths this surface hides This surface, this thin boundary Lies between the different sides As I think of when I visited The depths of water Grey, I see the depth beneath me’s Not at all that far away. I feel a tug that pulls me, And dips me slightly down, A force pushes me under And the source I think I’ve found. It’s the world pulling me under, Trying to drown me once again, But this time I have strength; I can’t and won’t give in. I’m struggling to keep my head up, But the weight’s too much to bear, Slowly I begin to sink, But I won’t go back there. I’ll never sink so low again, I’ll never lose my sight, I’ll never let things drag me down, I will control my life.
